Annually, Edgewood College celebrates the life, legacy, and achievements of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during DREAM Week, and closes on the third Monday of January in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. This year, the theme for DREAM Week is grounded in Martin Luther King, Jr.’s quote, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”.

January 2016 DREAM Week Events

The campus community will celebrate DREAM Week 2016 by hosting the following events:

  1. Monday, 1/18, Edgewood College is Closed in Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  2. Wednesday, 1/20, Black Student Union Teach-In: The Balance between Academics and Activism, 11:30am-1:00pm, President’s Conference Room
  3. Wednesday, 1/20, “We the 350” Performance, 7:00pm-8:30pm, Anderson Auditorium
  4. Thursday, 1/21, CDI Sour Patch Series: Carry Through and Carry On: How do we persist when the work for social justice is long? 4:00pm-5:30pm, CDI (PRD 206)
  5. Friday, 1/22, MLK Student Award Banquet, 5:00pm-7:00pm, Washburn Heritage Room (Closed Event)
